New Roles announced at County

Following a business optimisation visit from one of our partner insurers, Aviva UK, and a review by the directors, County are pleased to announce the a number of changes to roles within the firm.

Malcolm Sydenham, who founded the company in 1984, becomes County’s Chairman. He takes a leading role in determining the structure of the board and it’s development, ensuring that it focuses on delivering what’s best for County. On moving to a chairman position, Malcolm said; “We’re preparing for next stage of growth at County and we want to be in a position to look after more policyholders and deliver protection from the risks of tomorrow.”

Tim Sydenham, Malcolm’s son who joined the company in 1994, becomes our new Managing Director. He will take on the final responsibility for decision making and drive the business forward. On accepting the new role, Tim said: “With many businesses facing uncertainty, now is a good opportunity to really help them through this time by offering our core message of making insurance work for them. I’m proud to continue to do this with County.”

Oliver Burns, who joined County in 2016 as a commercial executive, takes on a new role and title of Sales & Marketing Manager. Alongside his existing functions as a commercial executive and marketing manager, he will also lead our effort to write more new business and encourage a sales culture within the company. On taking up the new role, Ollie said: “The last few weeks have seen a challenging time for all of us and a big period of adjustment but we are now at a point where resources can be focussed on generating new enquiries, making new relationships and forging new opportunities with clients and insurers alike”.
