Last Wednesday, 25 November, a troop of keen traders gathered at the Christmas Primestock Show held at Thame Market.
Local showman David Plested took top honours with his Blonde X 535kg heifer which sold to the judge at a marvellous 475p/kg to gross £2541.25. Michael Dickens and Family sold the reserve Champion a 610kg Limousin Steer at 340p/kg and £2074.00 again to the judge who went on to take the 2nd placed heifer again from the Dickens family at 300p/kg. James Ludgate took the Young Farmers Class at 290p/kg for his heifer and followed with his Limousin Steer at 258p/kg. The local supporter class was won by M/s HB & LJ Lear with their Limousin heifer at 248p/kg.
The Prime Sheep Show was kindly judged and supported by Mathew Morris of Joseph Morris Butchers, South Kilworth who awarded the Champion Pen to James Gurney of D W Gurney & Son for their 43 ½ kg Beltex X selling to PC Turner at £152.00 (349p/kg). The reserve pen went to Andrew Ivory selling to the judge at £150.00 for 46kgs. Edie Ivory took the Young Farmers Class at £101.00 for 39kgs.
